Japanese Envoy: Despite Sanctions, Japan Continues With Trade Ties With Iran

Shiraz, May 30, IRNA -- Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Kinchi Komano said on Tuesday Japan keeps the current level of trade and economic cooperation away from Iran sanctions. He told IRNA on sidelines of the sixth Workshop on Management for Iran Water Resources and Management of Dams in Shiraz. "The Western sanctions on Iran make difficult investment in Iran and the Japanese and Iranian companies suffered losses from the sanctions especially when they covered international banking transactions," Komano said. He said Japan welcomes economic cooperation with Iran in different fields of interests. Pointing to oil sanctions, the Japanese Ambassador said Iran and Japan oil business is sill going on and can be improved despite the embargo./end
