KL Business Club Wants To Strengthen M'sia-US Business Ties

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur Business Club aims to strengthen even further the good working and business relations that the US and Malaysia share. The club is currently hosting US Senator John McCain and Senator Joseph Lieberman who are here for a three-day visit ending Friday. "After the club's wonderful and successful trip to the United States recently, it is truly our pleasure to return the favour by playing host to the senators and the rest of the US entourage at the dinner held in their honour last night in Kuala Lumpur," its President-Designate Tengku Zafrul Aziz told Bernama. The club's US trip was led by the Crown Prince of Malaysian Northern State of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah. "We hope to see many more trips such as this to strengthen even further the good working and business relationship that the US and Malaysia share, and that our American counterparts return for even more Malaysian hospitality," said Tengku Zafrul, who is also Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Investment Bank. On Wednesday, McCain and Lieberman called on Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak at his office in Putrajaya. They were accompanied by Malaysia's Special Envoy to the United States, Dr Jamaludin Jarjis, and the United States Ambassador to Malaysia, Paul W. Jones. -- BERNAMA
