Intl. conference on Persian language and dialects held in Tehran

TEHRAN,June 9(MNA) – Tehran hosted the First International Conference of Persian Language and Dialect on Thursday and Friday. The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia (CGIE) organized the two-day conference. The linguistic articles were selected from those submitted to the secretariat of the gala over the past months, the secretary of the conference Behruz Mahmud Bakhtiari mentioned during the opening ceremony of the conference on Thursday. He said that the research based on language data that cannot be present orally have been rendered in the form of posters during the conference. The CGIE aims to compile a comprehensive three-volume encyclopedia on the Persian language and dialects headed by Mahmudi Bakhtiari in the near future, the head of CGIE Kazem Musavi Bojnurdi mentioned. Afterward, the academic secretary of the event Mahumd Jafari Dehaqqi talked about the importance of different dialects of Iran saying that they are cultural and historical heritage. He said that the main part of Persian language dialects is beyond the geographical borders of today’s Iran. “The conference aims to introduce the latest research achievements in the field of language and texts of ancient Persia, and to review the wide range of language as a unity between the countries of the region,” Dehaqqi concluded. The selected articles of the conference will be published after revision by the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia.
