Tehran’s Saba producing TV adaptations of Parvin Etesami poems
TEHRAN,June 9(MNA) -- Tehran’s Saba Art and Cultural Institute is producing an animation series inspired by a selection of odes by Parvin Etesami (1907-40), one of the most prominent Persian poets of the 20th century.
Entitled “Odes of Parvin”, the seven-episode animation series is being directed by Manuchehr Ahmadi.
The beauty and simplicity, the visualization of Parvin’s poetry and my own personal interest in her poetry since my childhood, all were the reasons to push me take the helm of the project, Ahmadi told on Friday.
Parvin’s poetry is themed upon social, humanitarian and mystical concepts, and contains no allusions to romantic love or feminine sentiments.
He added that the team began the project about two years ago, but it was brought to a temporary halt, and that so far four episodes have been produced.
We estimate the entire project to be complete by the end of this year (Iranian calendar year, March 21, 2013), he said.
The shapes and costumes of the characters are inspired by Persian paintings also named miniature along with Iranian traditional music, he said, adding that a veteran dubber who is also an expert on Parvin’s poetry has been selected to narrate the poetry.
Ahmadi continued that “Value of the Jewel”, “Dream of Flight”, “Parrot and Sugar”, and “Dream of a Mother” are some of the names of the episodes in this series each lasting about 10 minutes.
In “Dream of Flight”, for example, the children and the youth learn to respect the elderly and make use of their knowledge and experience to gain success.
The series might seem to be a young-adult animation but it will also be interesting for adults, he said.
