Ahmadinejad Invites Ukrainian Counterpart To NAM Summit In Tehran

Tehran, June 10, IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs M. Kamalvandi on Saturday met with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and submitted to him a written message from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inviting him to attend the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Tehran. The Iranian envoy also met with his Ukrainian counterpart on Saturday and discussed with him ways of expanding mutual relations and cooperation mainly in commerce and trade domains. The Islamic Republic of Iran has attained significant success in various fields over the past 30 years and is ready to utilize them to meet the two sides interests, Kamalvandi said. There are ample untapped grounds for expansion of economic, political and industrial cooperation between the two countries, Gerishenko said. In a separate meeting at Iran’s embassy, Kamalvand also conferred with the Ukrainian deputy foreign minister for Middle East and Africa as well as Ukraine’s director general for political affairs on regional and global developments./end
