Iranian filmmaker Khosrow Sinaii tries his hand at poetry

TEHRAN,June 12(MNA) -- The Iranian filmmaker Khosrow Sinaii tries his hand at poetry this time. Sinaii’s collection of poems entitled “The Song of White Butterflies” has recently been released by the Amrud Publications. “I became a filmmaker and if there were any poetical enthusiasm it would appear in my movies. However sometimes, I recite my short poems in coterie and for my friends,” he said in the preface of the book. He said that he noticed that his friends texted his poems to each other with errors but he considered this to be more of a sign for him that this is the way the younger generation communicates and sends his poetry. “So I decided to publish the poems so that in this way, the reader and audience can get to know the poet and the poems can be read without mistakes,” he added. “Painter”, “Pearl”, “Life Is This”, “I and Autumn”, “Doors”, “With the Angel”, “Photo”, “Our Child” and “Wasteland” are some of his poems published in this collection. Sinaii is internationally famous for over a hundred short films, documentaries and features. “In the Alleys of Love”, “Talking with a Shadow” and “Bride of Fire” are among his credits. He received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for his documentary “The Lost Requiem” in 2008. Sinaii has a lot of talent and interests in translation. He translated “Conversations with the Great Moviemakers” by George Stevens Jr. into Persian.
