Egyptian reciter Ahmed Naina selected for Iranian Quran competition jury

TEHRAN,June 12(MNA) -- Egyptian master Quran reciter Ahmed Naina was selected for the jury of the 28th International Quran Competition, which will open in Tehran’s Milad Tower on June 17. Other jury members, which will be announced later, have been selected from Malaysia, Algeria, Indonesia, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon, Iran’s State Endowment and Charity Affairs Organization Director Hojjatoleslam Ali Mohammadi said in a press conference on Monday. Iranian members include Abbas Emam-Jome, Mohammad-Hossein Saeidian, Mohammad Derayati and Abdorrasul Abaii. In addition, Egyptian reciter Ali-Mahmoud Shamis has been invited to recite during the competition for the first time. Over 40 Quran memorizers and 50 reciters from 65 Islamic and non-Islamic countries will be competing in this edition. Reciters from France, England, Russia, China, Canada, Denmark, Norway and Serbia are scheduled to attend the competition this year. Paying tribute to females active in the Quranic fields as well as visiting religious locations in Tehran have also been arranged on the sidelines of the competition. A seminar on Quranic research is scheduled to be held on June 21.
