Bomber Kills 3 In NW Pakistan

Islamabad, June 13, IRNA – A suicide bomber on Tuesday killed at least three people in northwest Pakistan, police said. The target was a leader of a pro-government private militia who escaped unhurt and the bomber exploded explosive vest when he hit a vehicle of his security guards. A child and another passerby were also injured in the attack at Bazid Khel area, several kilometers from Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police said leader of the anti-Taliban ‘lashkar’ or militia, Fahim, was heading for a meeting with police in his car when a bomber, on foot, run towards his car. He missed the target and hit the car of guards. Two guards died at the scene and another died in hospital, doctors said. No group claimed responsibility for the attack. The government blames Taliban militants for such attacks. On Friday, at least 19 people were killed and 20 were injured in a blast near a bus of government employees in the outskirts of Peshawar./end
