Russian FM: G5+1 Should Focus On Constructive Talks In Moscow

Moscow, June 16, IRNA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed hope for holding constructive talks between Iran and Group 5+1 (five permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany) in Moscow. Lavrov made the above remarks in a joint press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari in the Russian capital, Moscow. “Moscow hopes that the Group 5+1 talk constructively in Moscow on June 18-19 about the documents related to Iran’s nuclear program that was prepared in Baghdad meeting. We unanimously believe that nuclear talks should take place within this framework,” he added. Lavrov noted that within this framework serious ideas and proposals have been gathered which can materialize step-by-step measures and reciprocal actions. “On the same basis, a special working document has been prepared that was handed over to Iran by Group 5+1 in Baghdad and it will be studied in Moscow,” the Russian foreign minister added. Iran and the Group 5+1 will hold talks in Moscow on June 18-19. Group 5+1 comprises Russia, China, US, UK, and France (five permanent members of the UN Security Council) plus Germany./end
