Puppeteers from 8 countries invited to Tehran festival

TEHRAN,June 25(MNA) -- The 14th Tehran International Puppet Theater Festival (Mobarak) is scheduled to host 11 puppet shows, which will be performed by puppeteers from eight countries. “Rumpelstilzchen” by the Strings Attached Puppet Theatre from Germany, “Garbage Monster” by the Cengiz Özek Shadow Theater from Turkey, “Isn’t This a Lovely Day?” by State Hand Shadow Theater from Georgia and “A story on Life of Brave Amar Singh Rathor” from India are among the performances. Puppet shows from other countries including Italy, Belarus and Afghanistan will go on stage during the event. Theater scholar Ardeshir Salehpur is the secretary of the event which will be held from June 30 to July 5 in Tehran’s theaters. Five halls of Tehran’s City Theater Complex along with Ferdowsi Hall, Sangelaj Hall, Niavaran Cultural Center and the Honar Hall will be among the hosts of the festival. The open-air area of Tehran City Complex, Iranian Artists Forum and Golestan Palace will also host puppet show performances during the gala.
