Salehi Departs Cyprus For Kazakhstan

Nicosia, June 27, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi departed Larnaka in Cyprus for Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, to attend the 12th meeting of joint economic cooperation commission of Iran-Kazakhstan. Salehi is to attend the meeting on Wednesday. The Iranian top diplomat, during his one-day visit to Cyrus, met with Cypriot President Demetris Christofias and acting Foreign Minister Vassos Shiarly and discussed expansion of political and economic relations with them. In the meeting with Cypriot president, Salehi felicitated Cyprus rotating chairmanship over European Union and conveyed President Ahmadinejad's message to President Christofias. He also attended a dinner banquet by President of Cyprus. The 12th session of Iran-Kazakhstan joint economic cooperation commission will be held on Wednesday in Astana and Salehi is heading Iranian side chairmanship and Kazakh Minister of Transportation will be head of Kazakh side of commission./end
