Administration’s disregard for Majlis views led to price rises: Iranian Majlis speaker

TEHRAN, June 28(MNA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that the administration’s disregard for the parliament’s views is partly to blame for the problem of high cost of living. The problem of rising prices has been partly caused by the hostility of external enemies and can be partly attributed to lack of foresight by the relevant officials, Larijani stated in a speech during an open session of the Majlis on Wednesday. This is why the parliament has repeatedly emphasized that the production sector should be provided with 30 percent of the revenues generated from the gradual elimination of subsidies or that the subsidy reform plan should be implemented patiently, Larijani stated. He added that roots of the problem should be found to help curb rising prices.
