Iran’s naval vessels in Persian Gulf to be fitted with radar-evading missiles

TEHRAN,June 30(MNA) – The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Naval Force said that the Iranian vessels which are protecting the security of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz will be equipped with radar-evading missiles with a range of more than 300 kilometers.
“We have already installed missiles with a range of more than 220 kilometers on our vessels, and we are hopeful that domestically manufactured missiles with a range of more than 300 kilometers will be operational soon,” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said in an interview published on the website of the IRGC on Friday.
He also said that all enemy targets in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman are within the range of Iran’s land-to-sea missiles and naval helicopters which have been equipped with air-to-surface missiles.
Naval commandoes are also fully prepared to carry out combat operations to repel any possible military threats, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Fadavi said that the Islamic Republic has the edge in the Persian Gulf region.
“Here, we determine the rules of the game and the playing field,” he said.
