Salehi-Westerwelle Talk On Phone

Tehran, June 30, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi talked over the phone with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Friday evening. The two sides discussed the latest developments in nuclear talks between Iran and Group 5+1 as well as regional situation and underlined that Istanbul meeting will prepare ground for progress in nuclear talks in a higher level. They underscored necessity of continuation of negotiation between Iran and Group 5+1 until reaching a concrete result. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, Salehi told Westerwelle that Iran’s delegation attended Moscow meeting with full readiness and constructive initiative; if Group 5+1 had shown necessary reaction, the ground would have been ready for taking important steps forward. Both foreign ministers expressed hope that in the next week expert meeting in Istanbul, the way could be paved for a higher level negotiation./end
