Iran's Speaker Receives Congratulation Messages From Counterparts

Tehran, July 1, IRNA - Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani received messages from his Algerian, Bulgarian and Iraqi counterparts congratulaing his re-election as the speaker of the ninth Majlis. Larijani received separate messages from Speaker of the new Algerian National People's Assembly Mohammad Al-Arabi, Speaker of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Tsetska Tsacheva and the Leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar Al-Hakim on Saturday. In his messages, they expressed hope that bilateral cooperation would further boost in all areas. Members of Iran's new parliament re-elected Larijani as the speaker of ninth parliament on June 5 for the first year of the body’s four-year term. Larijani managed to get 177 votes from the total 266 cast just to defeat his rival Gholamali Haddad Adel. Larijani represents Qom constituency in the Majlis./end
