Top Iranian MP Reiterates Futility Of Western Iran Sanctions

Berlin, July 1, IRNA -- A leading Iranian lawmaker reaffirmed the futility of western sanctions imposed against Tehran over its nuclear program. Talking to IRNA in Berlin, the head of the Majlis budget committee, Hojjatoleslam Gholamreza Mesbahi Moghadam said Iran's enemies and those pushing for sanctions should know sanctions and pressure would lead to nowhere. Economic sanctions and western pressure will have no effect on Iran's determination on its path towards development and progress, he added. Mesbahi Moghadam made clear Iran had always backed unconditional, constructive and serious talks with the West. He reitarated his country would never come to the negotiation table as a result of western pressure or arm-twisting./end
