Oil Minster: Sarvestan, Saadatabad Oil Fields To Become Operational By September

Tehran, July 3, IRNA – Minister of Oil Rostam Qassemi says Sarvestan and Saadatabad oil fields will become operational by September with initial daily production of 15,000 barrels of oil. Speaking on the sidelines of his visit to Sarvestan and Saadatabad oil fields, Qassemi said that over the past few months, some oil-related have been launched.. The three oil fields of Cheshmeh Khosh, Sarvestan and Sadatabad are in their final stage of implementation. Development of Chemeh Khosh oil field goes ahead rapidly with a 97 percent physical progress and is to start operation concurrent with construction of two storage tanks. Associated gases of oil fields in the western parts of the country will be injencted into Cheshmeh Khosh oil field to enhance its recovery rate. Cheshmeh Khosh is located 80 kilometers from Dehloran city in Ilam province. Sarvestan and Saadatabad oil fields are scheduled to come on stream by the end of September 2012. Saadatabad and Sarvestan oil fields are located 90 and 110 kilometers southwest of Shiraz. Having 1.4 billion barrels of in place oil reserves the two fields cover an area approximately 242 square kilometers./end
