War games a response to threats: Iranian commander

TEHRAN, July 4 (MNA) – The purpose behind the missile war games by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is to “demonstrate the political will of the Iranian nation to preserve vital values in a symbolic way through firing missiles,” deputy IRGC commander said on Tuesday.
“It is a response to those who speak to Iran using politically impolite remarks and say that all options are on the table,” Brigadier General Hossein Salami added.
On Tuesday, the Aerospace Force of the IRGC test-fired domestically manufactured missiles with a range of 300 to 1300 kilometers.
Tens of Shahab 1 to 3, Fateh, Tondar, Zelzal, and Qiam missiles were fired from different missile sites across the country at bases modeled on airbases of the extra-regional powers, which had been constructed in the heart of the Semnan desert in north central Iran, and destroyed mock enemy targets.
Salami also said that the IRGC has no plan to hold joint military exercises with other countries.
