Iran has a right to nuclear energy, AP deputy chief says

MOSCOW, July 7 (MNA) – The deputy manager of the Associated Press said Iran has right to nuclear technology for peaceful purpose. “We too believe Iran has right to access nuclear technology,” the Associated Press deputy chief said in a meeting with the Mehr News Agency director Reza Moqadasi on the sideline of the World Media Summit in Moscow on Thursday. The AP official added more negotiations are needed to tackle distrust between Iran and the West. For his part, Moqadasi pointed to the U.S. presidential election in November and called Barack Obama’s threats against Iran “political”. To win the support of Israel in the presidential campaign Obama has adopted a “political approach” toward Iran and “naturally after the election, we will witness a shift in U.S. position,” Moghadasi said. The AP deputy manager also expressed interest in establishing more interaction with the Iranian media outlets and confirmed limitations put on Iranian correspondents. He also said Iran has put some limitations for foreign media. He said if such limitations put on media are decreased by both sides, the two sides can present a more realistic image of each other and thereby build trust.
