Economy Minister: Single Parity Foreign Exchange Rate, Govt's First Priority

Tehran, July 9, IRNA - Minster of Economy Seyyed Shamseddin Hosseini on Sunday said a single parity foreign exchange rate is the first priority of the government. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony to officially announce the world report on foreign investments. "Despite the formation of a parallel foreign exchange market in Iran, setting a single parity foreign exchange rate is the first priority of the government’s programs," Hosseini said. “The Government in its fifth development plan has announced its foreign exchange system as a floating one so as to manage and control the scope of its fluctuations," he said./end
