Iranian Majlis speaker offers condolences over deadly floods in Russia

TEHRAN,July 9 (MNA) – Iranian Majlis speaker Ali Larijani issued a message on Sunday offering his condolences to his Russian counterpart Sergey Naryshkin over the deadly floods in southern Russia. According to Reuters, a Russian Interior Ministry crisis centre said that 144 people had been killed in the flooding after two months’ average rainfall fell in a few hours on Friday night. Most of the dead were drowned, many of them elderly people caught unawares as they slept.
