“Che” shooting begins in Kermanshah
TEHRAN,July 11 (MNA) -- Director Ebrahim Hatamikia began shooting “Che”, a film on the Iranian war hero Mostafa Chamran, in the town of Uramanat, Kermanshah Province, on Monday.
The cast and crew of the film will return next week to resume working in Tehran.
The shooting will be completed in four months, producer Mehdi Karimi previously said.
“Che” will depict 48 hours of his life on August 16 and 17, 1979, Persian media outlets announced on Monday.
Fariborz Arabnia plays the role of Chamran in the film. Babak Hamidian, Merila Zaerei, Saeid Rad, Mohammad-Mehdi Salani and Amir-Reza Delavari are main members of the cast.
The film will be produced under the auspices of the Farabi Cinematic Foundation, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
Chamran was commander of several military operations in the warzones of Kordestan and Khuzestan regions during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war. He was killed in a mortar attack in the Dehlaviyeh region near Ahvaz in 1981.
He had completed his Ph.D. in electronics and plasma physics with excellent grades from the University of California at Berkeley.
