Iranian kamancheh virtuoso Keyhan Kalhor, Brooklyn Rider teaming up for Minneapolis performance

TEHRAN,July 14(MNA) – The Iranian kamancheh virtuoso Keyhan Kalhor along with the string quartet Brooklyn Rider will give a concert at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis on August 21. Composed by Colin Jacobsen, “Atashgah”, “Beloved, do not let me be discouraged” and “Three Persian Miniatures” will be performed during the concert, the website of the center announced. They will also perform “Culai”, which has been composed by Lev Zhurbin. Brooklyn Rider is a Brooklyn-based string quartet devoted to the interpretation of existing quartet compositions and to the creation of new works. Members of Brooklyn Rider are Johnny Gandelsman and Colin Jacobsen on violin, Nicholas Cords on viola and Eric Jacobsen on cello.
