“The Prisoner of Las Lomas” to appear in Persian

TEHRAN,July 14(MNA) -- Mexican writer Carlos Fuentes’s “The Prisoner of Las Lomas” has recently been translated into Persian. Abdollah Kowsari, who is mostly known for his translations of Latin American literature, has translated the book into Persian. “Since the story is short, the book also includes an interview with Fuentes,” Kowsari mentioned in a press release. Mahi Publications, which has previously published the Persian version of “Constancia”, will release the book in the near future. Fuentes’ “Aura”, “A Change of Skin”, “The Old Gringo” and “Constancia” were translated into Persian by Kowsari. “The Prisoner of Las Lomas”, one of the stories included in the collection “Constancia and Other Stories for Virgins”, is a tale about a wealthy man imprisoned by his servants in his mansion, a situation that he soon learns to enjoy. Carlos Fuentes (1928–2012) was a Mexican novelist and essayist. In his obituary, the New York Times described him as “one of the most admired writers in the Spanish-speaking world”.
