Control of Persian Gulf is in ‘Iran’s hands’: Iranian navy chief

TEHRAN, July 16 (MNA) – The commander of the Iranian Navy said on Monday that Iran has control over the Persian Gulf region. “The control of the Persian Gulf region is in Iran’s hands,” Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari told reporters. The admiral also dismissed reports that the fourth U.S. aircraft carrier has been deployed in the Persian Gulf. The top military official also said that security in the Persian Gulf can only be guaranteed by Iran.
