Iranian film festival underway in Berlin

TEHRAN,July 17(MNA) -- An Iranian film festival opened at the UCI Kinowelt Colosseum in Berlin from on Monday. The Iranian Visual Media Institute has arranged the event, which will run until July 19. Five Iranian films go on screen during the festival, which focuses on the role of women in today’s Iranian society. “Here without Me” directed by Bahram Tavakkoli, “Canaan” by Mani Haqiqi, “Mr. Yusef” by Ali Rafiei, “Invitation” by Ebrahim Hatamikia and “Women Only” by Rambod Javan are in lineup for the festival. The films are screened in Persian with German subtitles and discussion panels are held after screenings. The event is cosponsored by the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Berlin, Germany.
