Head of Presidential Research Center: NAM Scientific Confab, An Opportunity For Exchanging Expert Information

Tehran, July 18, IRNA --Head of Presidential Research and Documents Center and head of scientific conference on Non-Aligned Movement called it as a valuable opportunity for gathering intellectuals and exchanging information in a scientific atmosphere. According to the report of Presidential Office website, speaking in the inauguration ceremony here on Tuesday, Rezaei said that NAM, as an important and effective international body in world developments, since its establishment in 1961, has opposed dominance of big powers. He continued that the movement, which started by a few members at first, now has 120 countries as main members, 17 countries as observers as well as 10 organizations and is considered as the second large and affective international organization after the United Nations. Rezaei stressed that the movement, relying on theoretical and scientific bases, has tried to maintain countries national interests and make them partners in each other's fate. He added that 590 abstracts have been received by the secretariat of the conference and so far, 46 articles have been accepted for presentation and 81 articles as posters in three sections of the conference./end
