North Korea to participate in Tehran NAM summit at highest level: DPRK FM

TEHRAN,July 19(MNA) – North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun announced that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will participate in the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran at the highest level. Pak made the remarks in Pyongyang on Wednesday during a meeting with Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian deputy foreign minister for Asian and Oceanian affairs. At the meeting, Araghchi presented Pak a letter from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that invited North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to the Non-Aligned Movement summit, which is scheduled to be held in Tehran from August 26 to 31. The North Korean foreign minister told Araghchi that the DPRK supports Iran’s stance in regard to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and hailed the Islamic Republic’s resistance against the avarice of the United States and other imperialist powers. Pak and Araghchi also exchanged views on bilateral issues and explored ways to enhance relations between the two countries.
