U.S. opposition to Iran’s inclusion in Syria talks blocks all progress: Russia

TEHRAN,July 19(MNA) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the U.S. resistance to Iran’s inclusion in efforts meant to defuse the Syrian crisis is “unconstructive” and “blocks all progress,” Eurasia Review reported on Tuesday. Russia believes Saudi Arabia and Iran have influence over the Syrian situation and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is another group that must be enlisted to unite the neighboring countries, Lavrov stated. He added that the next international meeting aimed at finding a solution for the Syrian conflict should include Iran and Saudi Arabia. Iran was excluded from a meeting of the Action Group on Syria, which was held in Geneva on June 30.
