Thailand's SCG to invest over Bt100b in ASEAN

BANGKOK, July 20 (TNA) - Thailand’s long-established Siam Cement Group (SCG) plans to inject over 100 billion baht to fund its new investment projects in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which will become a Single Economic Community with more than 600 billion consumers by 2015. SCG President Kan Trakulhoon announced on Thursday that the SCG would totally invest about 200 billion baht from 2013-2015, over 100 billion baht of which will be in ASEAN, especially in Indonesia and Vietnam. Kan said the SCG's new investment projects would focus on its main businesses, including petrochemical products, concrete and construction materials. Kan acknowledged the SCG may merge with or take over other enterprises in the future and will actively promote its brands on regional and world markets.(TNA)
