Iran loses to Poland in Jerzy Wagner's Volleyball Memorial

TEHRAN,July 22(MNA)--Iran lost to World League champions Poland 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-22) on Friday in the 10th annual Hubert Jerzy Wagner's Volleyball Memorial in Warsaw, Poland. “The new era of modern volleyball has started for Iran. I am satisfied with my players’ performance since they put such a great team under pressure,” Iran coach Julio Vlasco said in the post-match news conference. Apart from Poland and Iran, the national teams of Germany and Argentina compete in the international tournament, dedicated to the memory of 1976 Olympic champion Wagner. The competition is held in memory of Poland's Volleyball legend Hubert Jerzy Wagner, who passed away in Warsaw on March 13, 2002.
