Pebbles bearing inscriptions of Holy Quran verses on display in Tehran

TEHRAN,July 23(MNA) – A collection of pebbles engraved with inscriptions of Holy Quran verses has been put on display at the 20th International Holy Quran Exhibition at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla. Entitled “The Heavenly Meteor”, the collection has been created by Iranian artist Hossein Pur-Razavi, the organizers of the exhibit announced in a press release on Sunday. The collection contains 16 pebbles, which have been showcased in the Visual Arts Section of the exhibition. No more details about the art works have been given. Over 200 Quranic and religious artworks in the fields of calligraphy, painting, poster and miniature have been put on show in the competition section of the exhibition. In the non-competition section, works by veteran artists such as Mohammad Salahshur, Abbas Akhavein, Mostafa Aqamiri and Rezvan Sadeqzadeh are on exhibit. Artist in various fields are scheduled hold several workshops for visitors during the event. The 20th edition of the exhibit, which opened on July 14, will be running for one month.
