Iran condemns terrorist attacks in Iraq

TEHRAN,July 24(MNA) - The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday condemning a spate of attacks in Baghdad and north of the capital that killed a large number of people on the same day. “Such terrorist attacks are in line with acts of hostility carried out with the aim of creating ethnic discord and posing a threat to the stability, security, and independence of the country of Iraq,” the statement read. It added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its full support for the Iraqi government to help it adopt appropriate strategies for countering such inhumane actions.” The Iranian Foreign Ministry also expressed confidence that the Iraqi people and government are able to root out terrorist and violent actions, promote security and stability in the country, and foil the plots hatched by Iraq’s enemies.
