Embassy denies reports Yemen expelled Iranian diplomats

TEHRAN,July 24(MNA) – An official at the Iranian Embassy in Sana’a has denied reports claiming that Iranian diplomats had been expelled from Yemen and that the Arab country had recalled its ambassador from Tehran. In an interview with the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency on Monday, the official said that the news reports published in this relation have no basis in fact. He also said that Yemen has had no ambassador in Iran since about a year ago. Elsewhere in his remarks, he denied the claims that Iran is involved in espionage activities in Yemen. Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi claimed on July 18 that Iran is spying on his country after members of an alleged Iranian-led spy ring were arrested.
