Teachers trained on how to use tablet PCs
BANGKOK, July 24 (TNA) - An extensive training on how to use tablet PCs under the Thai government’s one tablet per child policy has been provided for teachers to get them ready to guide their students in the proper use of the computer tablets.
Some 112 teachers from 13 schools in Bangkok which have received the first batch of tablet PCs since July 18 attended the training programme, organised by Bangkok's primary education area office on Monday. The participants were trained on, for instance, basic components and applications they can use as supplements for their lessons plans.
Given the government's tablet computer distribution plan, the first batch of computer tablets has already been distributed to first-grade classrooms in several schools in eight Thai provinces, including Bangkok.
Initially, students are not allowed to take tablets home but once they get used to the technologies, the schools will seek permission from parents so that the students will be able to take the tablet PCs home. (TNA)
