Japanese festival to stage Iran’s “Last Supper”

TEHRAN,July 24(MNA) – The Iranian theater troupe Eede is scheduled to perform a war-themed play at the Kijimuna Festa, which will be held in Okinawa City, Japan, from July 28 to August 5. The troupe will perform “Last Supper” on July 28 and 29. The play, which will be is directed by Ahmad Soleymani, was written by Mohammadreza Kuhestani. “Last Supper”, which is a play without dialogue, is about the reactions various soldiers show to different situations at a warfront. The play has been previously staged at international events in Sweden, Denmakr, Turkey, and several other countries. “Theater is Nuchigusui” is the theme of this year’s festival. “Nuchigusui” means “medicine for life” or “medicine for long life” in Okinawan language. Several seminars, symposiums and workshops will be held during the festival. The organizers have also arranged a fine selection of performances for children and young adults. A total of 56 theater troupes from around the world will give performances in the festival.
