QURAN RECITATION CONTEST STARTS IN MECCA
Baku, 16 0ctober, (AzerTAj)International contest of Quran reciters started in Mecca.
165 contestants from 97 countries will compete in the 7-day contest organized by the
Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs. 71 Islamic cultural centers, as well as Islamic
charitable societies are participating in this event.
The annual competition is held to encourage Muslim youth in the Islamic world to
memorize the Quran and understand the meaning of its verses.
