PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN AZERBAIJAN WERE LEGITIMATE, OPEN AND TRANSPARENT , CIS MISSION ANNOUNCED
Baku, 16 0ctober, (AzerTAj)Presidential elections in Azerbaijan were legitimate, open and transparent, Head of the CIS observance mission Sergey Lebedev told a press conference on vote results.
“CIS mission consider the conduct of the vote was firstly in accordance with
Azerbaijan’s law, secondly legitimate, open and transparent, and thirdly, these
elections will promote further democratization in Azerbaijan”, Mr. Lebedev said.
CIS observers emphasized, several violations of voting were not serious and did not
impact the outcome.
CIS observance mission include 394 members with some 33 long-term observers. All of
them were watching the process of voting on 70% of polling stations throughout the
country.
