Haze continues to affect southern Thailand
SONGKHLA (THAILAND), July 29 (TNA) - Haze from forest fires on Indonesia’s Sumatra Island has continued to affect residents in Thailand’s Songkhla province.
On Sunday, traffic visibility remained poor as the southwesterly monsoon continued to bring over the haze to southern Thailand, where there has not been any rain for days.
The Pollution Control Department confirmed the air quality was still safe, although children and the elderly were advised to wear facemasks.
Moving over to Trang province, city lights have been switched-on during daytime, as thick haze has blanketed over ten districts.
Satellite images currently show 194 hot spots on Sumatra Island, where up to 681 hot spots were reported on Saturday. (TNA)
