ASEAN-China further co-operation on information and media
(KPL) The results of the co-operation on information between ASEAN and the Republic of China has contributed to promote the understanding, solidarity and the friendship co-operation between ASEAN and China, said Mr. Mounkeo Oraboun, Minister of Information and Culture at the first ASEAN-China ministerial meeting on information held on 13-16 October in China.
The meeting aimed to provide an opportunity to information ministers from Asean countries to exchange view with their Chinese media organisations on ways to enhance co-operation and promote mutual understanding.
The event was of great importance to the further development of information and media co-operation between Asean and China.
Mr. Mounkeo also said that the co-operation on information and media between ASEAN and China has started since 2002, in which many activities has been successfully implemented through the exchange visit of media workers, meetings, and seminars. For the Lao PDR has actively participated in implementing the co-operation projects.
It made progress towards the 2006-2010 work plan on enhancing Asean-Chinese co-operation through information and media, which adopted in Indonesia in 2006.
