CEC CHIEF MAKES STATEMENT ON PRESIDENTIAL VOTE

Baku, 16 0ctober, (AzerTAj)Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir
Panahov made a statement on the presidential election on Thursday at the Sechkiler
Information Center.
“This election will be remembered in the history of Azerbaijan as very important
event that one can be proud of. Azerbaijani voters were very active and election was
conduced in a transparent manner,” said Mazahir Panahov.
Turnout at election was 75.64%. Any country should be proud of this indicator.
Election was conducted in a democratic, free and transparent manner. CEC has not
received any official request on the results of the voting.
Protocols from polling stations were posted on the CEC website. 3,541,365 people
voted in favor of all candidates.
CEC did not receive protocols from remote villages. After protocols are received
from all 5359 polling stations, CEC will announce preliminary results.
