MP: NAM Summit, Good Opportunity To Declare Iran Stance In Int’l Arena

Tabriz, East Azarbaijan, Aug 7, IRNA - A parliamentarian announced here Tuesday that holding the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in the Iranian capital is a good opportunity to declare the country's stance at the international arena. A member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mehdi Davatgar made the remark in an exclusive interview with IRNA. The summit is a good opportunity to strengthen the unity and solidarity of member states against invasion of arrogant powers, he said. Davatgar added that holding the NAM meeting is an indication to the failure of the Zionist regime’s conspiracies and triumph of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy. The 16th NAM Summit is to be held in Tehran from August 26-31. The Islamic Republic of Iran will undertake NAM presidency for the next three-year period. Egypt is currently the NAM president.
