A Mazar-i-Sharif street named in honor of Iranian diplomats killed in Afghanistan

TEHRAN,Aug.8(MNA) – A street in Mazar-i-Sharif has been named “Martyrs of the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran” in honor of the nine Iranian diplomats killed in the Afghan city in 1998, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday. The Iranian diplomats were killed in Mazar-i-Sharif on August 8, 1998 during the capture of the city of by the Taliban.
