TEHRAN,Aug.8(MNA)-- Omid Noroozi of Iran won the gold medal in the men's 60kg Greco-Roman wrestling at the London Olympics. The 31-year-old wrestler defeated Georgia's Revaz Lashkhi 1-0, 1-0 to give Iran its second Greco-Roman medal in as many days. Hamid Sourian won the country's first Greco-Roman gold on Sunday in the 55kg weight class. “I had no doubt I would win the medal. I dedicate my medal to my parents, who helped me find my way. Also, I am happy since I’ve made 70 million Iranians happy,” Noroozi said. “Iran has so many talented wrestlers and I hope that the officials will pave their way to develop the sport,” Noroozi added. Noroozi beat Kazakhstan's Almat Kebispayev in a rematch of the 2011 world championship final and then took out Lashkhi for his first gold medal.
