Assad Condoles With Ahmadinejad On Deadly Quakes

Damascus, Aug 13, IRNA – Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad on Monday extended condolences to this Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on deadly quakes which hit northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on Saturday. In a message, Assad expressed sympathy with the Iranian government and nation on the sad event and prayed to the almighty God to grant comfort to victims' families. Two strong earthquakes leveled villages and damaged homes in northwestern Iran on Saturday, killing at least 250 people and injuring over 2,000 others./end
