Iranian, Italian directors team up for children’s play

TEHRAN,Aug.14(MNA) – The Iranian director Omid Niaz and his Italian colleague Guglielmo Papa plan jointly to stage a play for children in Tehran in early 2013. The play, tentatively entitled “1+1”, is scheduled to premiere during the Fajr International Theater Festival, Niaz told . The play is about two people who set boundaries between themselves in an isolated land. The boundaries impose limitations to their lives and consequently they give up and begin to help each other. He said that no words would be used in the play, which will be performed for children over the age of four. “We are rehearsing for six hours each day and we will probably have two performances during the Fajr festival,” Niaz said. Guglielmo Papa has been actively working in the field of children’s theater since 1995, directing plays, conducting research and holding workshops.
