Saudi King Calls For Dialog Among Religions

Mecca, Aug 15, IRNA -- Saudi King Abdullah ibn Abdelaziz called for establishment of a center for dialog among religions with membership of heads of Islamic states. King Abdallah was speaking in the inauguration ceremony of the 4th Extraordinary summit meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states in Mecca on Tuesday. He added that the proposal would be submitted by the secretariat of OIC. King Abdullah continued that given much sedition in the Islamic societies which have aimed our religion, we must be aware and feel responsible. He also called for solidarity and tolerance among Islamic countries. The next speaker in the ceremony was Senegalese President Macky Sall as the rotating chairman of the OIC. Expounding on the Islamic states problems, he called for solution of problems such as Syria, Palestine, Myanmar and north of Mali. Secretary General of OIC Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, as the next speaker, urged heads of states to do their utmost to resolve the problems of the Islamic world.
