Indian Religious Scholar Calls For Unified Resistance For Liberation Of Al-Aqsa Mosque

New Delhi, Aug 16 IRNA – An eminent Indian Religious scholar Wednesday called for unified resistance for the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the clutches of Israeli regime. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, President of Shaheed Mottahhari Society in New Delhi said: “By following the ideology and guidelines of Imam Khomeini (R.A.), the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Muslim nations should forge unity and should exert pressure on the Israeli regime to vacate the Holy land. Al-Aqsa Mosque, illegally occupied by the regime, is a highly religious place for the Muslims across the globe, from where Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) ascended to the heavens. He stressed that on the occasion of International Quds Day, the stances of Imam Khomeini (R.A.), conceived originally by him, should be taken as a strong support for the campaign of the Palestinian people to regain their denied rights. Explaining the significance of the International Quds Day, Jalal, who is also the Joint Secretary of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind said: “The protest and rallies, on the occasion, held across the globe send a clear message of condemnation for Israeli Regime and its allies for the atrocities they have committed against the Palestinians and illegal occupation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He maintained that Muslim countries across the globe, by keeping their petty difference aside, should unite and exert pressure on Israeli Regime to vacate Palestinian territories as well as Holy land. Jalal also called upon the peace-loving, democratic and anti-imperialist people of the world who believe in justice and human dignity, to come out and protest against this brutal and dastardly attacks on the Palestinian people and the illegal occupation. International Quds Day is an annual event that began in Iran in 1979, that is commemorated on the last Friday of Ramadan, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposing Zionism as well as Israeli Regime’s illegal occupation of Holy land. Quds Day rallies were first introduced in Iran by the leader of the Islamic Revolution and founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979. Conceiving the historic event, Imam Khomeini (R.A.) said: “I invite Muslims all over the globe to consecrate the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Al-Quds Day and to proclaim the international solidarity of Muslims in support of the legitimate rights of the Muslim people of Palestine with protests against the Israeli illegal occupation./end
