Majlis Foreign Policy Commission Will Back Promoting Iran-Cyprus Ties: MP

Tehran, Aug 16, IRNA – Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Wednesday that the commission welcomes any move to promote Iran-Cyprus ties in all fields, especially in parliamentary domain. In a meeting with Cyprus Ambassador to Tehran, Andreas Ignatiou, he added underlined expansion of bilateral ties in all fields, according to the News and Mass Media Bureau of Majlis. Referring to regional developments and Cyprus periodical presidency over EU, Boroujerdi said that all the capacities should be utilized in a bid to promote peace and stability in the region. Ignatiou, for his part, said that Iran and Cyprus have always had excellent ties and they also boast good capacities for developing relations. The ambassador said that talks and visits will pave the way for the nations to get further familiar with each others’ capabilities./end
