Mahram to represent Iran in William Jones Cup

TEHRAN,Aug.16(MNA)--Mahram basketball team will represent Iran in the 34th Edition of William Jones Cup which will be held at Taipei, Taiwan from August 18-26. A total of nine teams will participate in the round-robin tournament. Mahram will face Lebanon on Saturday in its opening. Jones Cup is an international basketball tournament held annually in Taipei, Taiwan. It was named after Renato William Jones, a basketball promoter and one of the founders of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The Jones Cup tournament started in 1977 and there are two version of the William Jones Cup — the tournament for men's basketball and for women's basketball — both dominated by American teams since 1977.
